Words of Sister Lúcia of Fátima are borrowed on the beautiful occasion of the jubilee of Mother of Perpetual Help: “Mother instilled in us a love of the Church and especially a great love for the Blessed Sacrament. Mother tried to develop in us all Christians virtues.”
Podimattam community inaugurated their jubilee celebration on the 15th of August, the day of the Assumption of our Blessed Lady and Independence day. We had solemn Holy Qurbana. Fr. Stephen O. was the main celebrant and Frs. Tomy A. and Michael N. were concelebrants. Fr. Michael gave the homily describing the importance of the Icon of MPH. He described every symbol in the Icon. He inaugurated the jubilee by lighting the lamp. We had novena after the Holy Qurbana led by Fr. Tomy A.
As a part of our Independence Day celebration Fr. Michael hoisted the national flag. We sang the national anthem and saluted the flag as a respect to the nation. Br. Cyril gave the Independence message. It reminded the importance of the day and struggle towards the freedom. The construction workers were our guests for the celebration. It was a memorable day in our life.
